From 2009. 4 dead and 1 critically injured at the time, all aged 18 to 20.

That must have been a very gruesome scene for the emergency services. One thing that was pressed home when learning to drive was never hit a tree.

That was some two years ago, young bloke and four friends (aged 18-20) picking up dad's new Golf from the factory in Wolfsburg. No seatbelts, doing about 150 km/h in town. Four died IIRC. Tragic really, despite the utter stupidity of this sort of behaviour...

Jesus I would hate to think what the bodies looked like if that's what the car ended up looking like.

I always knew.a tree was one of the worst things you could hit but who thought a tree could do so much damage. It doesn't even look like a big tree in the pictures.
