Just brought a pretty nice 535i SE manual with a low 90,000 miles off an gent who had practically had it from new. I brought over the phone as good 535i's and manuals are incredibly rare now, went up on the train a drove it back from Glasgow!

Just wondering what parts OEM I need to make the suspension as new and where to get them from?

Cheers,
James

Get down and dirty with all the front bushes, thrust control arms upper and lower, tie rod ends etc. Dampers could probably do with being replaced too.

Do the rear subframe bushes etc too. Stops it feeling like it has rear wheel steerng wink

Being a big old lump using cheap parts on an E34 is a false economy. I used genuine on both of mine. But I had a decent bidget back then!

Having said that it's all DIY jobs, they're big and chunky to work on.

Once done my 525i was sooooo much tighter. Wanted to do my 540i but sadly other issues meant it was not viable so I sold it frown

What condition are the sills and all areas around boot, rear panel and fuel flap?

Rust wise, a blister on the boot edge above the number plate other than that all the usual places are totally rust free.

As the suspension stuff has been highlighted above, I'd recommend a cooling system overhaul in addition to any work you do - unless there is any evidence of recent work in the car's history.

The water pump and fan clutch have been done. The car coped with rush hour OK this morning.
