Only a matter of time.

Now Libya is all but resovled focus will turn again to Syria. It will be a case of whether Assad sees himself injured in a sewer pipe sooner or later and bugs out early or he remains deluded in his god given right to rule.

Can't see the same happening in syria to assad, he comes across as a bit more shrewd than a frothing at the mouth dilousional dictator.
Others had allowed in foreign jounalists but he has banned them all so it is harder to tell what is actually going on there.
He has a western education of parts and i think that has a bearing on his rule.
I see him as shrewd, smart and very intelligent compared to saddam hussein and muammar gaddafi.

With the added bonus that Iran are involved. It could get very, very messy.

The only way the Libyan rebels prevailed is due to the support of Nato airpower. A rag tag band of rebels won't win against a regime with tanks and artillery who are willing to use them against their own people. Mass defections in the Syrian army are possible I suppose but the situation is very different to that of Libya.
