Scams in the classifieds
Discussion
Chaps,
Could you please review the adverts for “ED Cars” in the classifieds, there is already a thread running about them in the Ferrari section.
The thing is, the vintage Ferrari world is a rather small place, and due to the nature of the cars, it’s easy to identify who’s car it is when you see a picture of one.
There are currently no 1962 GTO’s openly for sale on the planet, yet according to Pistonheads classifieds, “Mark” from the North East, who has been selling second hand Blackberry’s on Gumtree, not only has a 250GTO for sale, but also 2 California Spyders, a 365P concept car, 250GT SWB, F40, 288GTO McLaren F1 and a host of other goodies . . . . . I know the owners of 2 of the cars that they are advertising and it’s rather obvious that ED Cars doesn’t own the cars, isn’t selling them and the pictures have been grabbed from Google!
I know that advertising revenue is important, and that PH isn’t a cheap train set to run, but you may want to weed the wheat from the chaff in the trade adverts before somebody with enough cash to own a GTO gets pissed off from either wasting their time, or finding out that somebody is trying to “sell it”

Have you clicked report on the ads?
I'd add a link to this thread in the comments bit.
yes I reported a few of them, was wondering if they were still there as trade have to pay for adverts . . . . . .although a trade advert on PH is a damn sight cheaper than the auction comission on £20,000,000+ I'd add a link to this thread in the comments bit.

Being discussed again, this time they have a F40 advertised, which is actually a 1:18 model!
