So, when you're feel like a coiled spring, what's your release?

For me, it's a good weights session. I train in an old barn full of weights, so it provides the perfect environment to just focus, with no distractions.

Going for a drive or going on a long, hard climb in the mountians also does the trick for me as well, although the latter isn't always logistically possible.

Unless the cause of my stress is my knees being fked, then a good hard run of a few miles. Until my lungs are bursting out.

Or a good hard bike ride or swim.

A good workout at the gym always works for me.Some of the most stressful times of my life have seen me there 3 plus times a week and Ive ended up with a good fitness level(which soon wears off when things get back to normal)

Equally a good session out with friends boozing works once in while.

A long road trip or a good blast on the bike always takes the edge off a hard day at work.

Beers with my best mate from uni. Not for the alcohol, more the company. Failing that, utterly smash myself on the road bike.

I find my running helps me de-stress too. Time away from people, mobile phones etc giving me the opportunity to sort my head out. Add on the endorphin rush afterwards and all is good thumbup

The gym helps a great deal, but I find more often than not I just want to sit down in a comfy chair in a quiet room for an hour or two with my ipod. It inevitably turns into a nap, but I always feel much better and less stressed.

Failing that I use whisky and cigarettes hehe

I don't do mega stress though, it's more unwinding at the end of the day for me.

Go for a run.
I didn't think of it this way until I got injured during the end of the university year with deadlines, exams finding a house for next year etc. I became so highly strung and actually had to apologize to my housemates for snapping at them so many times!

It's been said 1000 times and I always thought, chill with computer games and beer. No! A work out makes you feel much better, and helps you forget whatever is stressing you out for an hr or so.

Phone off, headphones in and a long run somewhere scenic usually calms me down.

Very stressful week last week. Direct result is that she's now dead I'm afraid.
