Those with LS7s, are you using the standard GM fuel rail? If so, was just a push on fitting used?

Has anyone changed the standard rail to something like Aeromotives one.? I think MacG use one? I have -6 fittings from the tanks, all the aftermarket fuel rails seem t be -8, I assume a-8 to -6 reducer is all that would be needed? Are there any problems to this?

Thanks

Yes the fuel rail is basically push fit and retained on studs.

Why would you want to replace a perfectly good rail with something else?

Car is up at Steves at the mo and he suggested looking into it for the fuel system we're planning so wanted to find out views from those that have them.

Yes we use the Aeromotive fuel rail - it was changed so that you get a full open loop system rather than the ends being 'closed'. The other option was to weld connectors onto the end of the standard rail.

We were advised to run this setup by several people so went down this route.

Out of interest, I wonder how many owners with fuelling issues have the standard rail or an aftermarket one?

What was their reasoning for the open loop system?

Surely this will have had a major contribution to the heating of your fuel. You were probably using around 200 litres/hour but pumping nearly double that so the fuel would heat up quite quickly don't you think?

Yes I have been asking myself the very same question. I will confer with our engine chap and report back...at this point I appear to be going senile and cannot remember why we were advised to go down that route.

Obviously! In fact we were far less inclined to get it due to its price - but were told to go down that route none the less.
