Since each model has its own thread for pictures of the cars, i thought it would be an idea to start a thread depicting photos of the owners themselves.

As the (allegedly) most revered model, it makes sense to kick off with the Griff owners

Hmmm, given the choice of the list above (cars i've owned) or the following, I think I chose quite well, although I have to confess the 635csi was crap, so that didn't last long !

There's another RWYB at Shakey next weekend, with only FlipFlop Griff and Mrs FFG attending AFAIK to represent the griff camp..

Unfortunately I won't be there as my 5.0, as standard, didn't quite impress with only 285bhp, so it's still away at the horsepower doctor.

What happened in the year 2000 Jammy? Before then it looked like you actually had taste in cars. Lotuses, Interceptor 635csi and i'll even let the 944 slip in as I personally quite like those, and it is the S version.

How could you honestly go from all those desirable cars to an Audi Titty and then to not just one cockster but 2 cocksters!

No wonder you bought a chimp and not a Griff.

financial waxing & waning really

the first lotus was in 1991, the 2nd in 1993 when they were still current, the interceptor in 1994 (when i was 25 and it was a seriously weird choice for a young man back then).

Then it was lean times with an E Reg white nissan sunny 1.3 with no sunroof (can't knock it as a means of transport tbh) for a while. Some tosser t-boned it, so onto a Vulva 340GL 1.7 (this was a period of £300 beaters), then a Honda Accord estate, then the 635 (it really was such a disappointment compared to expectations).

In 2003 came the 1987 944S-16V - a superb car. Had about a gazillion previous owners, no service history, sleeved brake lines, indicated 130000 miles and still it felt hewn from granite and indicated 155mph on the M4. I crashed it, oddly, doing about 20mph in central bristol.

Replaced it with a bargain almost mint 1990 Golf Gti MkII 16v, 3 owners, 113K mls. FSH. £800! Uninsured driver wrote it off. Values were going up so quick that after only 3 months and having paid £800, the insurance pay out was £1500. Result

2004 was an alfa 156 2.5-24v. Pretty car, nippy, otherwise unremarkable, except it came from CarCraft ('nuff said). Traded that back to them at a horrific settlement figure for the TT. Now, TT haters, that car is a lot of fun, really can be chucked about and feels good to drive. What's not to like (apart from the image of an Audi driver)?

2006 p/exed into a v low miles Boxster 3.2 Manual. Again, great car and everyone knows it. Probably the best point to point roadster (as clarkson would say) "in the worrrrlld". 2008 p/exed for a 1k miles Boxster RS60. Finally a decent power to weight ratio. Great car, won't hear a bad word against it. Especially with £15000 off list at 1000 miles !

2008 - my wife got pregnant with twins, panicked financially, sold the porker and replaced with a Quashqai +2. Qashqai wasn't big enough for newborn twins, equipment, buggies etc, so that quickly got chopped for the Merc GL (amaaaaaaazzzzzziiinng all rounder and v. fast for a leviathan).

2009 - Soon got bored, got chimp 4.3. Was ok, not as quick as hyped. Kept draining the battery, sold to David Gerald for within £800 of what I paid.

2011 - Bored again. Chimp 500 because i couldnt find the right spec/miles Tamora. Again, not bloody quick enough !

There we are then.....
