Looking for people's most recommended site for checking car history etc... What arethe options and costs? I have no idea frown

As a dealer we use Experian and we have never had any issues at all with them- I dont think they are the cheapest. Where cars are concerned always better to be safe than sorry.

Best for a punter and best for the trade are usually different. The reason being that HPI costs a pound or two per check plus your membership if youre a trader, but it cost tens of pounds if youre a retail customer.

Others will argue Im sure, but all you really need is a reliable condition alert register search and the piece of mind given by a PNC search (they dont access the PNC, but you know what I mean).

If you buy a car in good faith then you receive legal title even if it has unsettled finance, so this isnt particularly important to me. The guarantees that HPI and some other firms offer may be important to you, in which case you should choose your product on the strenth of this feature.
