Split rim refurb question
Discussion
I'm planning on refurbing a pair of ex Tuscan 16" OZ split rims that i have recently bought and wanted to know if anyone had any experience of splitting them? I understand they are sealed with a mastic/silicon type substance and i'm expecting it to be a pig of a job to seperate them.
Any advice gratefully received chaps.

I was reading this only this morning as I might get round to doing mine over the winter.

Brilliant this confirms most of what i had figured out up to now. Having the old tyres removed today or tomorrow then i can get on with it. I will do the 16's first as thet need a full refurb. The 15's that i will keep on the front are very tidy so just need splitting in order to paint the spokes. Gonna go with Hammerite satin black smooth finish. Won't need laquer over the top.http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/gassing/topic.asp?h=0...
Once i crack on i will try to take some progressive pics.
