3000M engine paint colour?

Currently restoring my 3000M (don't ask for how long!) and I wish to establish the correct paint colour for the engine block etc. Is there anyone out there who knows the colour they were painted when they came out of the factory. It is a 1976 car, originally LHD but converted to RHD in the distant past.

This is my first post on Pistonheads but I did serve as the local TVR Club RO for five years some time ago.

From my memories of working on Fords around that era I think black was the norm with factory recons being blue.

Thank you both. Looks like black underneath the green that some kind previous owner slapped all over everything. Looks like this one is going to be black from now on.

Hi,
My name is Dirk living in Germany an I'm currently restoring a 3000M.
My engine came also with an ugly green metallic paint.
According to the documentation of my car, the engine was sold from Ford to TVR as an industrial engine.
I guess that these engines had the greet met. painture.
