Specialist track car insurance

As i know nothing of this i would like the PH knowledge base to help me out.

Who are the best insurers for a road worthy track day car. The car is currently standard, but i want to strip it out, fit buckets, etc, with a limited road mileage.

How does the cover work on the actual track day?

Does it cover you for a number of events? Do you have to inform them and pay an additional fee per track day?

Any help would be appreciated

I use Competition Car Insurance on the M3 and it's a shade over £500 for fully comp road insurance and three more named drivers. They cover 5 trackdays a year and beyond that you can insure further trakdays for something like £10 per £1000 value of the car. They will also cover 2 European trackdays (but not on the Nordschliefe).

You don't get 3rd party cover on trackdays so if you crash, put it in the wall not another car!

Mine is via Adrian Flux but is underwritten by Equity Redstar.

No NCB on the policy and its for TPFT only, 3000 road miles per year, no track cover, new for old on mods and £350 excess.

i'm 23 and it cost £675 for my BMW 328 E36, spend around £7k on mods.

Its classed as "Cover between stages of a rally" on the policy wording.

Is the 3rd party bit relevant as in the unfortunate situation you come together with another car as i understand it you can't claim off each other under any circumstances anyway on a track day?

Your track insurance [if you have it] is purely there if you want to make a claim on your own policy for any damage.

Im with REIS. Ill try CCI next month to see if they can quote me happy. this thread is bookmarked! Trackday cover costs a bomb, like 70 quid a pop with reis. Soon adds up.

£650 on a BMW 318is, any mods you want (cage, seats, brakes etc) 5000 miles a year on the road. Flux wanted £730 TPFT with no mods. Admiral were cheapest on "normal" cover at £500 FC but no mods. I cant remember what cover for the actual track day was (not my primary concern) but i didnt think it was too bad.

I have to admit its more then i wanted to pay but its a necessary evil and is within my perceived price.
