What make people say that's a girl's car?

I am a bloke who drive a Ford KA and a lot of people say its a girl's car, why?

I also like the Mazda MX5 a real sports car, yet called a girl's car!

WHY ARE THESE CALLED THIS???

It tends to be people who don't have the first clue about cars. I used to get similar comments when I had my Puma.

Because they're mainly driven by girls?

Never heard the MX5 referred to as a girl's car. Only that of a hairdresser, male or female.

My wife owned a Puma. I drove it alot. Great car................but still a girls car

If (and this is a big 'if') you care about what other people think of your car, stop buying 'girls' cars. If you don't, just enjoy owning a perfectly good car for your intended use.

I generally don't listen to people who come up with "it's a girls car" as 99% of the time these people drive something incredibly boring/common.

You only have to look around you whilst driving.

One example that springs to mind, is that the vast majority of Minis I see are driven by women.

Hence it's branded a 'woman's car'.

There are plenty of other examples such as various Peugeot models etc.

Surely a good chunk of these small, cute, pretty cars are built for women to buy? Like some one said, just look at the majority of poeple who drive these cars, like the beetle, mini, ka etc.. most women i speak to love small cars for parking too(i'm not being sexist, its fact) also, when i'm bored and browse through my wife's girly mags(only at the bra ads, honest!) The cars advertised are never RS Focus's, or AMG Black series. They are the cars named above, and in blokes mags, you get the amg and rs.

So thats why certain cars are more girly, and some are more butch, imo anyway.

RX8 has a vanity mirror on the man's side...

it's that much of a mans car, the sun-visor around the mirror is perforated to let the light through.

This is true.

My RX8 had this, and now my current car (BMW e46 coupe) has this. I only use them when searching for bogeys, not for doing make-up, therefore a must-have in any mans car.

I always laugh at this...Corvettes seem to be driven mostly by women (trophy wives) or middle aged guys with trophy wives...does that make it a chick car or a "mid life crisis" car?
