what a bell end. Too busy showing off - you can tell he is not in control before he crashes.

He knows he is an idiot - but what can he do.

To his credit, he took it very well smile

He seems to suggest he went for 'Sport' but switched off the traction control instead?

Yeah, because the sport button is just what you need before entering a corner too fast! DOH...

He's one muppet for sure, but they both got out unhurt and I get the impression his wallet wasnt too badly hurt either...

What an absolute knob jockey.

No idea what he was trying to do there. Steering input didn't seem to match the corner, and he didn't seem to be going for any buttons. Just looks like he totally (in the biggest way) misjudged the way that piece of road went!

Strong car though.

But if you watch the vid - he never seems to disengage it as he later explains.
Surprising the car lost both offside wheels. Thank god no one was stood nearby.
Classic moment when he retrieves one from a field !!

I am not familiar with the Rapide, but that did seem a little strange to me.........

That wont be fibreglass.. it's some form of composite plastic, the DB7's had the same stuff on their front wings and I imagine so have most Aston's since then.

When scraped or broken it appears like fibreglass, white with stringy fibres.

Looks like he changed down just before the corner when the steering wheel twitches. Nob.

There are composite panels on the Rapide.

what a nob, would have helped if he's turned the steering wheel to go around the corner.

He looks scared, anxious and stiff in posture driving the car. Not a sign of a good driver.

There was no traction control and looks like he understeered in.

When going into a skid worst thing to do is brake hard. You need to try and accelerate out of the mess or feather the throttle to not upset the weight balance of the car. And also direct your steering into the corner at the right time. If he had done that he might of got away with much less damage.

Still... cant believe how he was being all jokey about it and the idiot with him saying that was the best crash he has ever been in. I mean come on please !

I think I am going to drive a bit slower for a while after seeing that. weeping
Yes it looked like understeer into the armco, but accelerating or even feathering the throttle isn't going to help you out here, probably not even the DSC either. He simply went in too fast for the grip on offer and that was that.

I think the joking from passenger and comments from the driver afterward showed they were in a bit of shock, which is a common reaction in such situations.

Just because you drive a fast car doesn’t mean you’re a good driver.......he looks nervous driving and is obviously driving beyond his abilities.......a good lesson to us all.......don’t be a knob

Exactly - lesson #1 DO NOT change the balance of a RWD car mid corner! frown

True. If you listen just before it goes pearshaped the car changes up one gear, he then flicks the left hand paddle to change down and at the same time twitches the wheel to the right (possibly he misjudged the exit at the fork in the road), the revs shoot back up to around 4.5 - 5k which presumably made things worse, jump on the brakes, bang
