In the UK what manual gearboxes are available at sensible cost to fit the 1UZ-FE V8 engine?

Don't mind 5 or 6 speed and it only needs to handle 300-350hp in a 1500kg car. I'm not trying to set any records.

Really looking for something that is possible to find without needing to employ Sherlock Holmes and isn't going to break Fort Knox to purchase.

Evidently looking for all the bits I'd need, including bellhousing, flywheel (??) and clutch assey.

Thanks.

Most obvious one that kits will be available for is the R-154 5spd turbo box.

Only problem being people know what they are worth these days.

Back 10 years ago when I started using them, I was buying them for £50 lol

be best checking either the Supra forum or Lextreme. Some of the other Toyota boxes may fit.
The R-154 will require a bellhousing though. Not sure if there are any direct bolt on options

Is that MK3 Supra's or only MK4's?

R-154 5spd was fitted to 86-93, or whatever year Supra turbo that era was.

The later car had a 6 speed with integral bellhousing. People do cut/weld/adapt this as well, but obviously it is much more complicated.
And 6 speeds will cost more than the 5 speed. Although I suspect both will be pricey and difficult to source these days

The 5 speed is a conventional box and bellhousing, so obviously much easier for a conversion, and pretty sure some people do offer them.

You could maybe try this guy in New Zealand. I bought my RV8 bellhousing from him many years ago. Excellent quality and good guy to deal with. Although the exchange rate was massively nicer when I bought some 12 years ago.

Someone in the UK is bound to have done a swap too though, or defo in the US.

Check the Lextreme forum.
