I need to fit a new bathroom in my house. The space I have is 1695mm, so 5mm under what seems to be the normal size of 1700mm. The current bath fits exactly into the space, so are 1700mm baths generally slighly under sized so they will fit into a 1700mm space, or are they exactly 1700mm.

If they are 1700mm, then I can get a smaller bath, or chop out the plasterboard end wall to make it fit. What would recommend.

does your existing one fit under the tiles ? as that would give you the extra length if your measuring tile to tile

Just chase some of the wall out along the bath rim, 5mm isn't a great deal.

They are nominal 1700mm normally. Often 1695mm or smaller still.

Thats the option I'm favoring, one wall is stud partition, so i can take a strip of plaster board out without too much hassle.

Thanks, thats what I hoped. Oversize would be a real issue, so you would expect them to make them slightly under the specified size to be sure.

I really don't want to drop 100mm from the bath size
