I'd only use a trusted source like Opie Oils for online purchases. Fake oils would be too easy to sell and I have no idea looking or sniffing it as to whether what it says on the bottle is what I've actually got.

No - It gunges up your router...

Why not? I've used Opie a couple of times - Good prices, rapid delivery (often free!).

I buy mine online. 4x5 litre bottles. Works out at £30 per 5 litres, cant find it cheaper than that in the shops and they deliver to the door to save me the trouble of driving to the shops.

Are you an Owner's Club member? Opie do discounts if you are.

Yes, it's in my car currently. But it's far too thin for it, so the HLA's are noisy when the car is warm hehe

It was £18 in Asda though, so can't complain.

Back to the original question - of course it's bloody safe to buy oil online. That's if it's from a proper shop with a real website / good feedback on ebay, and not some bloke on a forum who says "psst, I've got some oil for sale, wanna buy it?" rolleyes

Opie oils, Camskill, maybe Larkspeed - all quite competetively priced

Pistonheads membership is enough to qualify for the discount, just select PH from the drop down list.

I use Smith & Allen on E Bay, wholesale oil supplier & very good pricing, also do bulk sizes where others don't. I've used their 75/140 Snth in the Jeep axles & it is good.
