sticking the silver heat shield under the bonnet

mine is gradually coming away from the underside of the bonnet. I have tried wedging a piece of wood and using evo style glue but to no avail. Any helpful tips? add glue and then close bonnet in place? Any thoughts on the best glue for this job?
