Need to replace both headlight units on my January 2000 Mk1 Focus 1.8.

Is it a case of disconnecting the headlight bulb. Then un-doing 2 x 10mm bolts and a philips screw?

Any advice by those that have done this would be very much appreciated.

Ta muchly.

I know it sounds stupid but have you tried youtube to see if there are any videos by mechanics showing you how to do it. wink

It's not stupid at all and thanks for your advice.thumbup

I did "google" 'replacing focus headlights' and this did bring up a youtube clip of someone doing exactly that - but it appeared to be on an American Focus not British so wasn't sure it was going to be the same as it all looked slightly different under the bonnet.

I also trawled through about 40 "pages" (screens) of postings here on the Ford forum but only found one about replacing headlights but I think that was on a later Focus (possibly 2002 if I remember correctly!). The guy said it was a s**t job to do and spoke about a screw that had to be got at from within the wheel arch which the youtube clip (on the American Focus) hadn't mentioned.

Will have a go at doing them anyway - but if I could get a couple of "pointers" in the right direction from anyone who has already done them that would be a great help.

Cheers! beer

There is a bolt underneath, the ford manual tells you to take the wheel arch liners off but no need to! Climb under the car look up between the bumper and wheel arch liner and you will find your 3rd 10mm bolt!
