As title really, freelander is about to tick onto 67k but its 7 1/2 years old now so im going for the nearest service marker for age/miles.

Apart from the usual filters and fluids that need changed, are there anything else that needs done, diff or gearbox oils for example, it was used solely as a tow car from the first owner so im curious of getting the diffs etc oil changed will help it.

Trying to get it ready for a 3rd hard winters use, the brakes got fully redone yesterday with new disc's, pads, caliper bolts and guide pins and anti rattle shims and the rear drum shoes have been changed in the last couple of months.

Make sure you change the fuel filter at this mileage, also the crank case breatger flter. The only other advice would be to have the turbo pipe checked. Otherwise no probs!

Turbo Pipe?

May mean removal of the Exhaust Gas Recirculating valve which diverts mucky exhaust gas and sticky carbon into the inlet manifold, this causes all sorts of issues including less efficient fuel consumption.

Buy one of these

and clean the Kak out of the inlet manifold to maintain clean running and better performance. It does not effect your MOT readings.

Also, at this mileage the viscous coupling is probably getting tired and could do with overhaul/replacement.

Ah, allisport EGR blanking kit has been on the car for 2 years now. smile As have uprated silicone hoses.

Not cleaned out the inlet though, VCU was replaced with recon at 45k as the orig shat itself, taking out the IRD, rear diff mounts and propshaft. frown

How easy is the starter motor to get out? Need to check it as the cars struggling to start and when i turn the key, i get a "clicking" sound like the solinoid is stuck or similar.
