Morning Folks,

This will be my first year down south in my new house in Titchfield, and was wondering if anyone knows any good bonfire nights with a good display of fireworks, the family will be down that weekend (5th Nov) and would like to take them to a display. I've been to ones before back in the Midlands that do the shebang with music etc, which is cool.
Don't mind travelling 30 mins away etc, as far a sWinchester etc.

Cheers

The Rose Bowl fireworks (4th Nov) are always good and all for free - if you watch from the M27 motorway bridge on the road going towards the venue. Difficult to park nearby but you are welcome to use my drive if you like - then a 10 min walk away.

There's one at Gunwharf which I think is set to music, not sure when they are on though

There's a fairly decent one in Whiteley, only spoiled by the Chavy leona Lewis style music blasted out.

Winchester ones are great, starts off with a torch parade from the Guildhall then to the River Park cricket pitches for the big bangs, then to the Alfred for beers.

I did this one a few years back and it was shiite!! I think we did have to pay too (may be wrong though), but I'm only 10 mins from there too so parking was easy!

If you can get to Lewis on the 5th (about an hour away), there's nothing quite like it.
Arrive for the precessions in the high street about 7pm. Try and get some tickets for the Cliffe bonfire
Which starts straight after. You'll even see the Pope being burned.

Pete is absolutely right, I used to live in Hailsham when the procession went from Lewes through Ringmer to Hailsham and back, it is a fantastic night! But be warned get there early! The amount of people that attend is in to Thousands from miles around but well worth it smile
Enjoy.

Another good one is the Brigadeer Gerard pub just outside hedge end. It's free to get in, they do pretty cheap beer (and real ales too I think) and the fireworks are usually going for about an hour. It does get pretty packed though and is family friendly too if that's your thing!

The Winchester Round Table Bonfire & Fireworks Display is free, but do give generously to the Round Table

Winchester Fireworks all the way!

Its the biggest free event in the country! Then followed by a beer or 3 is always a standard!

As above make sure you give generously wink this is the only fund raising event we have for the 12 months smile

Northern Scotland is just an hour away?! Gosh, I'd rather go to LEWES in East Sussex.
