First time on here...I have been collecting old scalextrix track for some years and i have it as i bought it in old boxes...most of it seems OK but i am sure there are some experts on here who will be able to tell me the best way to clean it so i works well and the conections work ( seem to remember problems in my youth) and also how to get it back to a flat state as the storage means a lot of it is now curved or bowed ...was thinking some kind of gentle heat but imagine u guys will know best....I did try and search this, but to no avail ...all help will be appreciated stephen

Thanks so much for the help, it is appreciated and it seems i have the cleaning of the track sorted....i can remember as a kid i used to use metholated spirits to clean it...BUT i still need to know about how to straighten the bowed track out...was thinking of a slightly warm oven and then leaving the track to cool on a flat surface but it would be great if someone else has had this problem and solved it. But again, thanks for your replys. S

If you buy the plebys kit it ones with a plastic stick that gets the kinks out.
Heating up track apparently also works a hair dryer would be a better option.....
