Well that's the second time this year that the cerbera has let me down. Think it's the fuel pump as the car is turning over can't hear the pump priming and no fuel from the injectors. Just waiting on the RAC man to tell me that he can't get it started then to wait even longer to get a flat bed to get taken home. I'll test the pump tomorrow as I'll be able to get to it easier.

But on a plus note had a good drive getting here. A little dishearten but I knew what I was getting into and nothin I can't fix myself.

Try giving it a tap, that will sometimes get the pump going again.

Or the Inertia switch? or Immob playing up as well could cause this. When you do get it home best feeding a direct 12v to the pump then you will know.

RAC man says fuel pump. I did try tapping it before as did he but no luck. He said he can feel is moving but it's not pressuring the pipe to the fuel rail. So will try direct feed tomorrow then new pump me thinks.

I tried the silver key just in case before too. Remember all the threads from all you good people.

Sorry to hear this Peter, hope you get it sorted ASAP. No mechanical suggestions from me I'm afraid, just wishing you the best of luck in getting the matter resolved.

No big issue really. The only down side is that the car may have to spend a few days on the road outside my house. Don't think I can push it up a steep slope

If the pump is trying but not turning, then it's probably jammed. Don't forget the fuel filter is the other side of the pump, so although there may be some sort of gauze over the pickup, the chances are that the pump has debris in it. The usual trick is to reverse polarity. Since the pump is going to be ~£100 it's worth a try.

Get the misses to push it,you can steer it then;)they are supposed to be light but i stuggled to push mine when she stopped running...then when i had finished she decided to fire upAlways seems ages waiting to be picked up

I got the misses to steer it whilst I puts it onto the road for the recovery truck couldn't get it into the car part. She told me she never wanted to do that again.

Got a pump from eurocar parts at £86 just about to fit it so hopefully all will be well.

Bosch have superseded there part numbers so will put all the information down once I've finished working in the rain

Also worth remembering that the fuel pump is lubricated and cooled by the fuel itself, therefore running with very low fuel and running out of fuel will reduce fuel pump life.

Did you check that the pump was getting a live feed with a voltmeter and that it isn't the relay?

The pump was pulsing when trying to turn the car over, but the pipe remained unpressurised

Changed the pump over now and all is good, although noticed that the cable core is a little black so will change the cable out next year as it clearly isn't up for the job.

the pump i changed it too looked just like the one i removed, so whether it has been changed before i will have to check the service history and see.

Euro car parts No: 441440101 £86.40 made by PWM can't find any information about PWM to check the spec, was told that the Bosch 0 580 254 957, has been superseded by 0580 464 126 and when euro car parts searched for the bosch number they come up with there 441440101

Lucky the rain come just after finishing. so thats two fuel related fixes this week, dropped the fuel tank on my Jeep to replace a 10p oring to cure the long crank issue, and now the cerbera. Fingers crossed now more for now.
