Ventilation / blower fan fixing
Discussion
Can someone help please?
Using the fantastic workshop manual by Graham, I have managed to figure out most of the problem I have with no air flow for cabin heating / cooling. The issue is the blower is lose in the base of the inner wing, so when I use heating or cooling there was no air movement as the blower is too far away from the the heater / cooler in the engine bay.
Does anyone know how it is meant to be fixed? I can jam it in place (as per the picture), but I can't figure how to fix in place?
My concern is that once the compartment cover is refitted, battery refitted, etc., that within a few miles driving it would dislodge, and I would lose cabin ventilation.
Also the manual states 2 blowers, but I only have one?
Thanks in advance!

OK, looks like you're into the compartment behind the battery 'box'.
At a guess, I'd say there must be some lugs on the motor to attach it to the body - either using self-tappers or through bolted. My tuscan definitely only has one blower.
If you remove the motor entirely can you see any mounting holes in the grp above it? You can remove both the hot and cold plenums with the pipework attached if you're careful which will allow you to see the stepper motor and the flap the stepper controls. The blown air from the blower motor is directed by the flap into the hot side or cold side. I'd say that you could probably see the motor and possibly it's attachment at this point.....but I'm not 100% sure.
Might be worth 'phoning Jason @ STR8 6 or Dom at Power for a bit of guidance...It's got to be attached to the body somehow.
Jason repaired my blower back in May/June (drain tube had blocked and it was sitting in water) - so he has fairly recent experience! If you carry out above, worth checking hot side exchanger, as mine failed early this year.

Cheers Karl,
Those photos are spot on! I've had the hot side plenum off to replace the little radiator/exchanger which sprung a leak earlier this year. (Had it recored by a local rad specialist who did a great job for ca: £90).
So I know a bit about the heating/ventilation. When you replace the plenums, make sure the silicon/rubber large bore elbows (75mm id) are located properly on the other (cabin)side of the bulkhead. They locate on a moulded stub into the mixing 'void' of the upper dashboard...the stubs have the flap valves that you always hear 'clunking' when you switch on. Otherwise the warm/cold air just leaks out....mainly on the passenger side, and not much flow through the ally vents.

Where exactly is the fan, i don't think my fan actually works and it sounds like the same issue yours had (no air movement).
Fan/blower is located in the space between the inner & outer wing mouldings. As shown by Karl's photos, the motor is accessed through the removeable panel on the outboard side of the battery compartment. Access to the hold down bolts is via the cold plenum (if you have a/c)/outer 'hump' under the scuttle panel below the windscreen.
Are you sure the heater ecu is OK? Loads of posts on here regards ecu location and failure modes if you want to search.
