Does anyone know if there is anything special about Ultima supplied harnesses, or are ones such as these equally suitable?

As far as I know they are specially designed in terms of length, however I got mine from Sabelt who alteardy had the measurements for a previous customer.

I've always been a Willans fan... mostly because they were fitted to my Atom and were easy to adjust. They are also a nice & friendly UK based company.

When I spoke to them about some replacement clips for my Atom, they did tell me that they can supply Ultima spec harnesses direct (so without going thru' Demon Thieves). They'll get my business for sure, might be an alternative for you?

As a side question.... are turn-buckle harnesses IVA compliant? They weren't with the Atom, it had to be IVA's with a seat-belt style install, which then got swapped out once the certificate was in hand. Presumably this is the same issue with the Ultima?

+1 I have 6 point with 3 inch straps, not sure about IVA but went through my SVA with no comment about the turn buckle.

I got mine from TeamTech http://www.teamtechmotorsports.com/
Outstanding quality. With pelvic and chest (sternum) protection. In fact, they manufacture harnesses for air force jetfighters.

Good point ref IVA!

Anyone that can confirm what is not acceptable, and is acceptable requirement for IVA?

Very nice stuff and interesting reading in the driver safety and installation instructions.

Sabelt custom made mine 7-8 years ago so I may have been 'That customer'.

As they fix directly behind your shoulders normal off the shelf items are too long. I have not looked to see if that actually applies to the linked item however.

Quite like those belts, especially the fact that the lap belt adjustments are pull up instead of the pull down, not too expensive either for what you get.

Having had 3" in the GTR and 2" in the Can-am, I'd say 3" better for track, but 2" much more comfortable on the road.

The Willans operate as pull up on the lap belt too, which as you say makes it easier to operate within the tight cabin.

Personally I prefer the 3" belts on the road as they feel very robust and secure.... always thought the 2" belts felt like were lacking in support, given the performance of the car. Just a subjective feeling, I know the 2" belts are just as safe, of course!

3" belts will spread the load better in case of an accident. I agree they are a bit of a hassle just for road use, but its an individual choice.
