The concrete for my new floor will arrive at last ( long story) on Thursday next week.

Before I lay the slab I was thinking that it's prob a good idea to run new has and water mains under the suspended floor in the front room into the slab and on to the kitchen. Thus getting rid of the ugly gas pipe round the house and the shared lead water main which is so deep that there is no chance I can dig it out (some how goes under the foundations then under 2 wells and the main sewer line. The stop tap is near on 9 ft down). But at the road is only 2.5.

Anyway. I can find the water pipe no prob but nowhere seems to stock the gas pipe the yellow plastic stuff.

Anyone know where I can get some and if there are any rules to say I can't put it under the floor?

It's not the supply into the house it's goin from the meter to feed the boiler and cooker in the kitchen so will be able to turn it off at the main if needed

And in a conduit through concrete floors.

Oh and make sure the [water] stopcock is big enough to match the pipe and maintain the flow you need.

ETA correcting misleading post!

Ok I've found the stuff. Comes in 50 m coils of yellow plastic very mych like the blue water stuff It's got to be better than copper or iron as it can be run with no joints under the floor.

Until there's a fire!

As has been said already, no plastic allowed in or under the house. Google 'plastic gas pipe' theres lots about it.
