There's over 20 AJP engined Cerbs in the Pistonheads Classifieds. Not a bad starting point as often known cars come up here for sale.

6.5 years ago I looked at 15 before I found my perfect Cerb. There are dogs around at dealers as well as privately owned examples.

Take your time and get any possible purchase checked over by someone who knows what faults they're looking for.

Buy on condition (age and mileage are less relevant)

I was also holding out for a 4.5 but eventually bought a complete minter 4.2 and havent regretted it at all. it was seriously box fresh with 20k on it. I preferred this to a compromised 4.5 so look about.

Thanks simon, been looking for a couple of months now, I have checked the ones on all websites, one or two have grabbed me but further digging reveals some things I'm a little uncomfortable with.

Im hoping a current owner is umming and arring about selling, hasnt listed it and this might prompt them to get in touch......Im offering a very good home!

Well I haven't got my heart set on a particular colour scheme, I'm open to almost all. The only thing I would rule out is a yellow one. Im not that keen on just red for interior, red/cream or other combo wouldnt deter me. If it was a peach of a car outside and good price Im sure I could swallow just red.

I would like one with a headlamp conversion. little niggles dont scare me, along as the chassis, main mechanics are in good order Im happy to get the spanners, glue, sticky tape out if it needs tidying up, especially if its a good price.

Budget Im not stretching myself as I want to keep some aside for the inevitable, my budget could cover a tip-top 2001 and previous.

I know the feeling. I've also recently bought a 4.5 and have only managed to drive it 2 times in 3 weeks. It's still in the garage having a major service

I'd be keen to see which car you bought as I was checking the market carefully too
