Morning all. OK, the inner pannel painting joys will be starting soon, as pre-fit progresses. While I'll be using Tough Black across the inside of all panels, I've been thinking about some extra protection in the inner wheel arches, to: Firstly, cut down on the sound of stones flicking against the GRP, but equally to protect against any damage they could cause.

Do you fine people have any ideas? I'm thinking, either a tickier, gloopier paint of some sort, or maybe a waterproof matting of some kind.

Thoughts & suggestions pls!

My car's body is about 12 years old and although there was a fair amount of damage there was no crazing of the gel coat above any of the wheels.

The damage I had to rectify was due to accident (rear numberplate area had what looked like "reversing into something solid" damage, closing clips with something too high inside, excessive pressure on the door buttons and stress on rear clip from wing.

Be careful with some of the under-seal type products as water getting between the body and sealant will cause issues (according to my painter who owns a GF bodied Jensen 541).

Good points, Paul, thanks for the feedback.

Max - Great link, I'd completly forgotten about Kaylan, which given that's what my RS' mud-flaps are made from is a bit silly of me!
