Odd Mercedes pricing
Discussion
I also saw this when looking at my company car - the new 520d was on par with the 320d except the 5 had far better equipment as standard (leather, iDrive etc). Didn't make much sense to me either, I always thought there would be a much larger step up to the next size in a companies line.

The CL is much bigger isn't it?
As for the other two, I think Mercedes would tell you that the C-class is a "sports coupe" and the E-class is a "GT". Same reason BMW make the 3-series coupe and the 6-series, pretty much.
I'd happily buy a new 6 series if it was cheaper than a 3 series coupe. . . . . As for the other two, I think Mercedes would tell you that the C-class is a "sports coupe" and the E-class is a "GT". Same reason BMW make the 3-series coupe and the 6-series, pretty much.

Just seems odd that the bigger car with leather is model for model cheaper than the smaller car without leather. As for the Focus costing more than the Mondeo, a Focus Zetec 1.6TDCi 5dr is £3400.00 cheaper than the same spec and engine Mondeo.
