Personal loan price promise - result!

I'm not as rich as most of the landed gentry on PH, so have a personal loan for a car. I noticed that Nationwide now offer the most competitive rate, 6.3%, which is a fair bit less then mine. It would be about £15 a month less.
I was a bit bored so thought I'd call me lender for a settlement figure, pay this off with Nationwide, to save a few pounds. I called my current lender but they offered a price match + £50 cash back, as I could beat their rates.
The end result is that I am now £15 a month better off + £50 cash back. Not bad for a couple of phone calls!
May be worth trying this with your lenders, if they will play ball.
