Afternoon all.

Off to view a 58,000 mile 2009 Cooper S on Saturday. I assumed as it's less than 3 years old it would still be covered by the warranty. But having had a google I'm not so sure.

Does its relatively high mileage mean it's no longer covered?

Cheers.

There's enough to cover you in case of any immediate problems - which would ease my mind more than an unwarrantied car.

You have the option of extending the warranty via the official Mini Warranty website.

If it's from a main dealer it will have twelve months unlimited mileage warranty.

Speak to your local Mini dealer to see what would be covered under warranty if you bought the car and claimed before the 60,000 mile limit is breached. They would also be able to tell you exactly how the Mini extended warranty works and if you could purchase it on a private car to give you peace of mind.

If you can buy the warranty you could negotiate this into the purchase price if the car is the one you want.

And even then only if it's been serviced on time.

Not always, the previous owner of my car got it serviced late but I've had no problems getting things looked at under warranty.
