Because you love them so, here's another "what car?"
Discussion
I couldnt hold out any longer, and the classifieds are probably getting bored of my continual, daily browsing.
Within the next few months i will be looking for a different car.
Not sure on the budget yet, as i work for the family business, which is part retail, and with Christmas coming up...
I suspect it will be somewhere between £5000 and £13000.
I have never driven a sports car with any form of enthusiasm, nor have i ever driven a rwd car with any enthusiasm.
My current car is a 1.8 Petrol Focus. I had a 600cc motorcycle which was nice, and i never got into any trouble on.
Ive had 3 years experience on the road, with 35000 miles in total.
My requirements are a fair balance of any of the following:
Some load lugging capability would be nice (but not necessary, and i could manage with none)
I dont commute
Could possibly be a 2 car set up.
awd/4x4 would be ideal
As good as, if not better steering feel than the focus.
Preferably not fwd
Rarity value/ something a bit different (my biggest complaint with the focus)
Reasonable reliability
Not French, nor Fiat.
Id rather avoid a "chavvy" car.
Somewhere around 200bhp/ton
The ones im eyeing up are
VX220
B5 RS4
S60R
Mazda 6 mps
BMW 6 or 5 series with the 30i engine
Chevvy Camero forth gen (but i dont think i could hack lhd for daily use)
Mk1 Focus rs
Jag xj-s v12 (could be my only chance to own a v12)
Lancer Ralliart
350z
My heart wants the vx220 if its the lower end of my budget, and the rs4 if its the higher end of my budget.
Or.. other..
Thanks.

Get yourself something like a Legacy, you choose the engine , twin turbo if you want it. This will give you a practical 4x4 for winter and general use.
Then get either the VX220 or V12 Jag. Both will probably be down in value over winter so keep a look out for the best examples in your budget as some will decide to sell now they have had summer fun and need the money so you want to wait until a good example comes on market at a good price.
Keep a watch out on forums etc for cars up for sale.
If you want a mildly tuned VX220 for example, keep a watch on user forums incase one pops up or put a wanted post on the forum, you may be offered something interesting and get it at a good price before its advertised to the masses.

The v12 jag is a bit of a wafty barge affair, dont want two barges. But i see where your coming from. Insurers treat TT Legacys the same as wrx stis. So also a no go Then get either the VX220 or V12 Jag. Forget the Image now, just thing of the rarity.
Mk3 Cavalier 4X4 Turbo.
Big boot, 206 BHP, about 50 left in the whole wide world.
LET 16V engine can be chipped to 280 without much effort, and 340 is possible I'm told by travis.
