FTSE 100 directors pay up 49%

Not sure if average FTSE 100 share price or dividend payouts have gone up 49% in the last year.

Company owners are being robbed, in broad daylight, by their own directors.

Indefensible - though I am sure some on here will just say 'go to the AGM and vote"

Corporate governance seems to have lost its way as a massive transfer of wealth from owners to directors is seemingly unstoppable .

Don't worry - just wait for the "trickle down" effect.

Yes, well, what you benefits scum don't understand, is that it wasn't the directors' fault that the rest of the company's employees underperformed.

I know - just imagine how bad things could have been without such excellent leadership. smile

I am generally surprised by just how many terrible directors are out there. Don't get me wrong, there are a lot of good ones, but some companies manage to perform in spite of their management team, not because of it.

Even ones who get booted out of one company or another seem to land similar level jobs with ease.

Same where ever there are people in positions of power

Same st goes on with the EU politicians... on the one hand telling countries to tighten their belts, cut spending blah blah blah... on the other hand voting to keep lavish expenses accounts and voting for their own budgets to be increased. I'm sure the seemingly untouchable s in the EU feel they deserve these things for all this "great" work they are doing.

at director level everyone seems to be mates with other directors anyway... all sit on each others boards, scratch each others backs etc etc, fk everyone else, I want more money.

What can you do about it? Lots of things most likely, but sometimes I just think... fk it, cant beat em, join em. Wave good by to a wholesome career in Engineering and go work in finance, in the city and try my luck with getting to the top. I'll probably fail, but at least I will of tried.
