The SOTW made me think of the long lost Ford Cougar and a quick browse of the ads later I found this little beauty:

http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/3348245.htm

Any bets on:

a) how many of the exhausts work
b) if the bodykit was sprayed on the car or not

Has anyone driven a Cougar?

It came out about the time I was thinking of chopping in my Puma and I toyed with the idea of one for a bit, but decided it wasn't worth looking at (mostly because I wasn't sold on the looks and most reviews were a bit lukewarm).

I just wondered if I'd missed something good(ish) smile

Absolutely hilarious. Standard chav maths too "If I buy a car for £1000, spend £2000 on st, tacky mods, it must be worth £3000 when I come to sell it" Yeah, it doesn't work like that.

Also, 200bhp? Yeah right, it's 176bhp brand new, before it's been abused and not serviced etc..

If you line it up against other chav-mobiles i think it suits the car.
If only it had the performance to go with the looks.

It reminds me of my Son's nappy when he gets up in a morning or after he's filled it.

Yep, the V6 is really quite nice. Brisk more than fast, but a superb engine/exhaust note. Handle quite nicely too but more of a squishy coupe than a sports car. Underrated IMHO, a really nice daily driver.

They seem to be having expensive problems with underbonnet wiring looms disintergrating due to heat though, and the automatics are ste.

love the careful attention to ensure the stick on bits are the same colour as the rest of the car

No, but a lot of people have driven a Mondeo V6 and that's what they are underneath. wink

If it's anything like the Mondeo ST of the same era I'd expect it to be very good indeed for a large-ish front wheel drive car.
