Just stumbled across the "Cougar R8"

The SOTW made me think of the long lost Ford Cougar and a quick browse of the ads later I found this little beauty:

Has anyone driven a Cougar?
It came out about the time I was thinking of chopping in my Puma and I toyed with the idea of one for a bit, but decided it wasn't worth looking at (mostly because I wasn't sold on the looks and most reviews were a bit lukewarm).
I just wondered if I'd missed something good(ish)

Yep, the V6 is really quite nice. Brisk more than fast, but a superb engine/exhaust note. Handle quite nicely too but more of a squishy coupe than a sports car. Underrated IMHO, a really nice daily driver. It came out about the time I was thinking of chopping in my Puma and I toyed with the idea of one for a bit, but decided it wasn't worth looking at (mostly because I wasn't sold on the looks and most reviews were a bit lukewarm).

They seem to be having expensive problems with underbonnet wiring looms disintergrating due to heat though, and the automatics are s
