I've considered a RC boat for Fun Bus Junior for a while now. He's nearly 7 and into these things like I am. I'm unsure though on whether RC boats are up to much and what pitfalls there could be with them; along with rules relating to where they can be used I'm not sure if it would be a worthwhile investment or not.

Any input appreciated as am considering one for his Christmas present or a 'just because' present before Christmas.

you go swimming! That is why most boating ponds are only a foot or so deep.

I have had a few boats and soon get bored of them, tried yachts but got tired of the rigging getting out of line, lake is too murky for subs.

Currently playing (well restoring) an old kyosho jetski - amazing turn of speed and handles great, also looks ace with the bloke sat on top!

Whatever you do get something with 2.4ghz radio gear, and lipo battery with low charge warning. When the batteries get low it turns off the power and just gives you short bursts so you can get it back to shore!
