ajp 4.2

I recently met another cerbera owner with a 4.2 but his was a few years older.
Looking at his engine I noticed that it only had 1 central fuel rail, mine have 2, 1 per bank.
My questions are when did this change happen, and does it change the performance?

mine has a single loop which runs around to feed all the injectors. it's a nov 97.

looks like 2 rails, but it is a loop

Same as my 99 4.2 and they hold some amount of fuel as i found out when i removed the inlets not long ago.

Single central fuel rail is the normal arrangement on a 4.5
I haven't heard of that arrangement on a 4.2 but it's TVR so you never know.
