TBH that spoiler is a bit too Fast and Furious for my liking but neons?? Please don't they'll weigh it down, probably ground everywhere and look naff.

thanks for the advice-kind of settles it!

as for the spoiler-all mods were done before i bought, so i aint taking any shit for that!!(well i have put in alloy door studs and shinied up the gear lever!)

just really into my car,and want to treat it right-

in two minds to change colour to pearlescent black and powder coat the wheels black?

thoughts on that?

thanks guys

Nah mate - IMHO spend your money on cool stuff that actually improves the car. Better tyres/suspension/performance/driving mods.

IIRC in a recent thread most people said that the best money they spent on their Elise was either:
a) A 1st Lotus Driver Training Day, or
b) A quickshift

Thought of either of these?

Fair play to you, you put it to the owners...did you see the nasty "blue angel" or whatever it was on ebay??? the rest of us did and it was offensive.

Like the other guys said, this aint that type of car...neons are pants on any car i think, ok if you live in miami then its probably v cool.

Not in britain, peeing down with rain, that said could see the advantage in our fog we get...

yes i did-what an horrendous transformation.

thats what i want to avoid-but the sad part of me likes a few boy racer mods-but i will leave it alone(i think its due to the fact that im 27 and i only passed my test 3 years ago-so i missed the boy racer age!!

i wasnt too keen on th spoiler at first(when i asked if it could removed when i went to view it-the owner got a bit annoyed and asked why i would want to remove it-as it cost him 750 quid!! so i shut up!

just want me car to look the bollocks and i respect all your opinions!

cheers!

Spoiler is probably easily removed but you'll end up with holes/covers in the rear clam.

The elise is a classic shape and pretty much any exterior mods start to wreck the car for me.

the coolest thing you can do to an elise is learn to drive it well, looks far cooler than cruising down the high street.

Dont put neons on please!

I would also ditch the rear spoiler. It looks too Max Powerish and doesnt add any real performance advantage. If it did I'm sure Lotus would have put it on when they designed the car. Just mho though

My local dealer had a chrome orange S2 with matt black wheels which looked pretty cool.

If taking the spoiler off will cost you money, I'd be inclined to leave it to be honest. The Exige and Elise race cars had spoilers, they can serve a purpose, but I doubt that ones setup properly.

I'd take the spoiler off and flog it and use a bit of the spare cash to fix the holes in the clam.

Crome orange with black wheels would look cool as IMHO!

But dont fit neons for f**ks sake !!

yes, ignore me-neons was a stupid idea!

the spoiler is growing on me-so will probably leave it,its a feature that sets it apart-some people like it,some dont!

to dan h-how would i know if it is set up correctly?-it does have adjustable angle upto 25 degrees, and at the moment is tilted down to most it can be.the guy i bought it off got it from lotus and they fitted it-cost 750quid.

No clue how you test it. Guess you either need a wind tunnel or a very skilled test driver out on the track.

Is it the same as the Exige spoiler?

not sure tbh, he defo said it was bought and fitted by lotus-as was front splitter.

i know its not the same as the new exige-which bolts down in middle of spoiler as opposed to ends like mine.

The Mk1 Exige was bolted at either end - doesn't look the same as yours is curved and the Exige one is straight IIRC.

Yoko's all the way mate, shop around for the best prices you should be able to get a good deal. They wipe the floor with PZero's.

As for Exhaust, all I know is mine is the Lotus Sport one which was fitted at birth (I think that makes it a Janspeed IIRC?). I rather like it, especially after spirited driving in warm weather, gives a nice growl, although I know others aren't keen on the sound... either way it'll sound way better than the standard pea-shooters.
