Someone hit my car the other day while it was parked in the tesco carpark. No CCTV covering the area and no idea of who to blame, no note left etc... Damage extends to rear bumper and valance and a cracked rear light cluster. Initial quotes seem around £500 all in. Anyone know of any good body shops in worcestershire and or breakers yards for cheaper rear bumpers. I dont want to get insurance involved but may have to unless I can get a cheaper price for repairs.

Can anyone help?

Damage not too clear on the photo but gives you an idea, the bumper is deformed and now overlaps the panel join with the right rear bodywork. the mounting bracket is also broken.

I can't help with a bodyshop, but as you rightly implied, involving the insurance will be a financial nightmare. If it costs too much to fix right now, why not leave it for now and save up for it, while you try and find an alternative solution?

My dad got his cracked bumper repaired and you can't tell. It came in at about £150 including paint as opposed to the £800 the Jaguar dealer wanted for a new one.

There are specialists who do this sort of thing and they're very good.

Secondhand lamp will be around £25 from a breaker.

Try Autoglym Bumper Car on the black plastic valance. If you're not happy, you're looking at around £60 for a replacement.

Try Autoglym Super Resin Polish on the scuff to the painted bumper. Rub hard and that mark will come out. Will the bumper reattach where it meets the rear quarter? If not I expect you're looking at £75 - £100 for a used bumper in the same colour to bolt on.

There'll be guides on line and youtube for Bumper & Light Removal:

Thanks for that. The bracket where the bumper attaches to the car body has snapped. The bumper has been pushed inwards and forwards so it overlaps the body panel. I expect some of the scuffs will polish out but some are deeper
