Left my X type for 2 months and now it won't start.
Battery fully charged, turns over normally and will run with a squirt of easy start but then stops.
I assume must be a fueling issue but where do I start to look.
Any help gratefully recieved.
David.

Fuel in tank? Check fuel pump fuse.

At last I have managed to check all the fuses and that there is plenty of fuel.
Car runs for a moment on a squirt of easy start but there is no sound of the fuel pump when turning the ignition on.
Is there anything else to check before I get the garage to come and recover the car.
Any suggestions gratefully recieved.

Tried setting & resetting the alarm a few times? the fuel pump is normally one of the things an immobiliser cuts out.

Some Jaguar's won't pump fuel unless there is oil pressure (or something funny like that) worth checking?

Well it is definitely the fuel pump which means tank out to change.
Is the pump a jaguar part only or is it common to any other car.

Most likely a common Ford part. See if you can find a part number via google and then do some searching smile

Now had the fuel pump replaced and car now runs.
However now have the EML light on and none of the ventilation system works.
Garage said that ECU says fault is climate control issue.
Ventilation worked before fuel pump was fitted but obviously could not test climate control without engine running.
Is this as a result of garage disconecting the battery which has upset the computer and therefore needs some kind of reset,or have they managed to
do something wrong.
They suggest taking car to Jaguar main agent for further investigation.
Any thoughts?
David.
