What is the youngest car you have seen scrapped?
Discussion
For me it was my 1999 Mondeo.
Youngest I know of though is my Cousin's Husbands which was a 2006 Honda Civic. The engine blew a hole in itself after a hairline crack developed and burnt the whole car to the ground.
I have no idea why he didn't give it back to the garage he bought it from as it happened 5 months after it happened but only he can answer that I suppose.

From memory it's been a 52 plate Astra, it was a (badly)repaired catD that had been left at an associates rented property when the tenants done a moonlight flit.
Turns out, there were no keys for it, so we scrapped it
I worked in the Scrap industry and some of the cars I've seen scrapped beggars belief

Around late 2005 i was going with a mate to sell his Celica and give him a lift home. When we got there the buyer (a massive bellend) told us he wanted to go to a Jap car as he had just had to scrap his 2002 Mondeo because it was shagged. He had had it from new, done 50'000 miles, original tyres, never opened the bonnet and when it failed it's first MOT the bill to get it to pass was large enough that he realised he could scrap it and buy another car for much less.
Brand spanking new unregistered Renault 5 Mk11 Turbo. Had a clip missing on the fuel pipe to the carb which blew off whilst I was out - ahem - "road testing" prior to doing the PDI. By the time I'd got to a phone box and the fire brigade arrived it was a smouldering ruin.
And I got b
ked by the workshop Foreman for not retrieving the Trade Plates

That wasn't involved in an accident/been vandalised. Just interested to know, as I know of a 6 year old 90k knackered Fiesta that's heading that way.
Is this your other car ?Could you elaborate on why its destined for the scrappy so young ?
Only because i also have a Fiesta of that type ,though it is younger and less leggy.

No it's not mine, I can just about afford the Beemer! Failed compression test, misfiring, red engine light on, emmisons through the roof, body work is rough, suspension arm is damaged and it needs four new tyres. It's going to be couple of grand to put right and it's only worth £3.5k on a good day. It's certainly been used and abused, an ex lease car I believe.Could you elaborate on why its destined for the scrappy so young ?

OK, it wasnt scrapped so slightly off topic...
I worked in the local body shop last summer, we had a 59 plate Fiesta come in with relatively heavy front end damage. The owners had baught the car new and had it for two days. The blokes missus had gone out to the car to show there son, she had opened the door, leant in and started the engine not knowing the husband had left the car in gear (The car was parked face down a steep slope). So off goes the car, down the hill off the rear corner of the husbands car and into a wall.
It needed a new bonnet, both front wings, front bumper, both front headlights, bumper crash bar and radiator from what i remember.

09 CityRover taken in as a part exchange and sat of the forecourt for eight months, out on eBay with a £200 start, no bids now scrap.
I would have given the chap £200 for it.
Hmm, are they really that cheap? A one make race series would be hilarious, if a little slow.I would have given the chap £200 for it.

Just saw this (these?) on eBay being broken at just under four years old:

Looks like the guy has two in stock, which makes me think they're not accident damaged, but are probably ex-chauffeur cars with 200k odd on the clock, and worth more in parts than they are retail.
