Last saturday, I went to pick up a few groceries with my son and in most cases he insist on taking the TVR (he is almost three, what did I expect). Now some lady, while reversing, scratched the wheelarch (the rim as well) on the left side, through the paint. Now the area is not very big but I was wondering as her insurance company will send somebody to estimate the cost how much will need to be repainted. My TVR has an easy colour (Formula Red) but I do not want to see any difference with the rest... Anybody have the same experience and knows what part will be respayed?
Thanks.
Tom.

Red paint is very metameric, whilst it will look spot on in daylight; under sodium street lights any sprayed area will look a different colour.

They should do it in base coat and lacquer so you'll never see the blend under any light

If it is not possible to do a "smart repair" on the damaged parts only, they will have to respray from door to door I guess.

Correct, if it's damage to the rear arch the entire rear end and roof would need to be lacquered if it's the front arch the entire front would need lacquering!

I would not accept a smart repair, only a base and lacquer repair. if you need any advise before the insurance repair it feel free to contact me
