Anyone else had this?

Put a cal for sale on autotrader/other webiste and then end up with 3 or 4 emails a day that read as such
"Greetings, i would interest and like your car and would like to make purchase, what is last price?"

Then you get some story about working on an oil rig or something and they request your paypal details......

I've had about 12 or 13 of these emails in the past week, really annoying.

I've been using ph for ages but only joined up properly yesterday. I thought there would be a few others with the paypal request job, sold a few cars via web. Why would someone pay you via paypal for a car they had not seen or asked loads of questions about? jokers

I had a very important, rich person who really really wanted to buy his dad an amazing car for his 50th (I wasnt aware a Focus was that sought after?), but he was on an oil rig so he would pay by zimbabpal and have his 2nd cousins cat's lawyer pick up the car.

I told him to email me on my "other" address, and gave him the email of some Nigerian scammer i also got that day.

I wonder if they're still trying to out-scam each other?

I had at least a dozen of these when I advertised my xkr on autotrader recently. I responded with a price of three times asking and still received the oil rig or army barracks story, present for my father/brother in law/something "reliable" for my son, can only pay via paypal, no internet banking etc. I can't quite work out what they would do with the information requested which is just the account name.
