Web Gallery software

I have a website hosted by a PH member (Register1)
I am wanting to update it completely but the software I have used in the past is obsolete (Adobe PageMill)
Does anyone have any recommendations of a suitable gallery creator programme criteria is;
1 Fairly intuitive ie dont wish to bury my head in instructions to compile
2 The site will comprise many different galleries of events
3 Have a 'up to date' feel about it
4 Ability to create a shopping cart
5 Not cost a fortune (so probably not an Adobe product!!)

What I dont want is to utilise one of the proprietary hosted sites such as photoshelter, zenfolio etc
