The CLK GTR has always been a dream car of mine, and it's probably best that it stays that way, rather than the reality of ever driving one (in that it's totally impractical and barely road legal). In terms of sheer presence, there's few vehicles to match it though. I've a few questions about the road cars I wouldn't mind some assistance with:

- Is it correct to say that there were 25 built in total (20 coupes and 5 roadsters)?
- Does the roadster model have any kind of roof arrangement at all, even for emergencies? Even though these cars are hardly ever driven, someone's bound to have been caught out in the rain at some point! I've looked at many photos of the car, and none have even hinted at even a temporary roof.
- Were any of the race cars ever converted into road cars like McLaren F1s were?

Some questions I'd be amazed if anyone can answer, although please do so if you've got first-hand experience!

- Is the CLK-GTR really as difficult and uncompromising to drive as seems to be the case? Fair enough if that's the case, but the McLaren F1 seems to get praised for this kind of 'authenticity' whereas the Mercedes - probably because it was a cynical homologation special - gets frowned upon. If you compare the Mercedes with a converted McLaren F1 GTR, then are the two really so different? (The point that I of course accept is that the F1 was a road car first, racecar later - the CLK was the opposite.)
- With small wing mirrors, no rear window / rear view mirror and a long wide body, how hard is it to manouevre and park in fairly confined spaces? I imagine the turning circle is large.
- Does the AMG engine sound as amazing in the CLK GTR as it does in the Pagani Zonda?
