Hi

All I seem to read on the forum this last week is talk about sorning cars, winter laying up of cars etc.

Are we "Wedge" owners or wimps! Or even worse Chim owners! (Sorry dave)

I am getting worried about some people!

Winter laying up is not for me!

Especially as I have just got the war departments 280i MOTed today for the first time in eight or ten years! clap

It passed with only one advisory (slight play in one drive shaft UJ) wobble

So tax it tomorrow and then use it! bounce

That then only leaves the FHC to finish shorting out and MOT it in December!

I crashed the company van on black ice last year, I'm not about to try the same thing in the TVR.

Well of course if its snows again or its icy out then obviously i wont risk it..That would be silly..Im keeping me fingers crossed that it will be a mild winter this year..If it does snow then its shank's pony for me!!..Ziga

I can understand that OK. spinrotateeekcryweeping

But down here in the tropics when the weather turns that bad we don't go out in the TVR.
But the number of dry but cold sunny days outways the bad. drivingthumbup

So a good blast then with the roof off is great, especially helps getting rid of the xmas and party blues etc!

I agree, however I don't agree with the taxation ripoff for the sake of those few good days. The tax on my car is out at the end of November so I still have another 29.5 potential good days biggrin

I must admit I regret SORNing my car end of September, we've had some cracking, bracing Autumn days/evenings, but guaranteed as soon as I tax it, the white stuff (snow and salt) will arrive....

9.5 inches of Snow on Saturday. 200 tons of salt went down in the Township I work for. TVR is now away for the salt season. Granted it came at an opportune time as the fuel accumulator sprang a leak and the cluch is now a slipper. Trying to decide if I put the money into the clutch and accumulator or if it now gets a small block ford or do I try to go for the new duratec cyclone 305hp mustang 3.7l 6 cylinder

Just taxed mine for another 6 months so as long as it doesn't snow, the roads aren't salty and it's not to wet, the Wedge and I will be enjoying plenty of winter outings!

OK so benebob is excused as he gets proper snow.

I may even excuse the Jocks.

But the rest of you lot need to man up.

You are missing some great driving days by tucking you cars up under a blanket all winter.

I thought you Wedgies were to real men in the TVR world.

Anyone for golf? laugh

A few years ago and a car I no longer have. A 25 mile run to the TVRCC Scotland meet one Christmas with the roof down ...

Just a note to add that the "Dodge Viper" in the picture is not a "real" one. The guy who owned it built it from scratch, including the chassis and body.

We don't have any snow yet and it's not even cold (the lowest I've noted so far was +1C), but still the salting season has already arrived. As I really, really hate that stuff to get on my cars, I only force my daily ride to face the stuff (and try to keep that facing as low as possible also). Hence, a winter vacation for her.
