Another day another crash. This is why I love sharing the road.

Nothing brings me more joy than having to wake up an hr earlier every day than necessary simply to account for time I am going to lose sat in traffic jams caused by idiots who should not be allowed to drive.

I could barely sleep last night I was so excited about waking up at 4.30 than 5.30 this morning.

Oh and of course we have the idiots who have accidents sitting in low speed traffic caused by accidents.

Oh heck I completely forgot the special mention to the wonderful HA who's completely inept and inaccurate traffic info and roads management helps add to the chaos.

I feel your pain. Although I'm now glad i'm working from home this morning after doing some changes at 4am this morning!

Although I'm at J9 so sounds like I'd just escape it.

This from HA...

M25 clockwise within J8 | Clockwise | Accident
01/11/2011 07:11:54
On the M25 clockwise between junctions J5 and J8, there are currently delays of 2 hours caused by congestion due to an accident closing four lanes at junction J8. Normal traffic conditions expected from 3:00 pm.

Also this from the BBC:

M25 Surrey, clockwise at A217 [M25 junction 8]
M25 Surrey - Queueing traffic, the main carriageway is closed, with traffic being routed around the junction and back on again, and long delays on M25 clockwise at J8, A217 (Reigate), because of an accident involving a lorry earlier on and a spillage of diesel on the road. Diversion in operation - via the slips. Travel time is 120 minutes. Congestion to J5 M26.

Mmmmm. Diesel. Delightful.

There has to be a better way of organising things than having this am / pm peak

I don't know what it is though!

There's never an accident - no such thing. Somebody make a mistake.

...and we all pay for it.

Start at 10am and finish at 8-9pm.

Or, start at 5am and be home for 3pm.

Oh damn travelling that way today.

I hate sitting in traffic as much as the next man but if 4lanes are shut then someone obviously died so a small delay of a few hours I can suffer if I happen to get stuck in it.

Seems to be every week at the moment on the M25/A2/A13. The mindless way that traffic is left to just build up for four junctions before a womble considers closing the entry slips is completely beyond me. Took me 4 hours to cover junction 4 to 3 last year when this happened because of this genius and nobody seems to ever learn from what happens every other week?

Narrowly avoided an accident yesterday when the tt in front of me decided to virtually stop from 60mph in the outside lane to have a good look at the pile up on the other side of the A2. fking brain dead retarded s.

Radio suggests that a tanker has dumped most of its load of diesel over the carriageway.

Don't any riding through there on a bike next time it rains... I know they'll skim and resurface, but still.

I wish lorry drivers would bloody well learn to concentrate when they're driving!
Every bloody accident, you can pretty much guarantee a lorry is involved - drives me mad.

Very few people who work in London go to work via the M25.

so after a nice long diversion cross country to Portsmouth first section of motorway I join within 2 miles an accident on the opposite carriageway.

This time on a dry 3 lane straight section of motorway some daft woman has put her car nose first into the central reservation. HOW just HOW??

A partially sighted 7 year old with downs syndrome could make a better job of driving than most of the morons I have to share the roads with.

Excellent! hehe

I do have to wonder how these people crash in the most simplest places.. Unless mechanical failure on the vehicle, fair enough.

Somebody in front brakes - morons following far too close and not paying attention panic brake and loose control.

I've been commuting by motorcycle for the last five years...it's the only way of guaranteeing a quick and hassle free commute.
