With the banning of blown diffusers and the great loss of rear down force who will it suit best?

Renault said earlier this year that they must be allowed to cold blow the engines for the sake of cooling the exhaust valves. With this no longer allowed i presume they must run them richer does affecting the MPG advantage they have over other engines.

Also as the front wing is unchanged hopefully will make the cars more prone to oversteer which would really help Schummi out as he has never been happy with the rear bias of the present cars, Prob help Hamilton out as well.

Mind you Newey will find some new tweak and the Red Bulls will still run away and hide!

McLaren seemed to be hardest hit when the blown diffuser was banned at Silverstone.
Very true , But for them the system was very much a after thought as the complicated exhaust layout they could not get to work in last winters testing was hopeless.

For 3 years out of three they have been caught with their pants down as the rules change for each season.

Do you really want to bet it won't be four out of four and they'll be playing catch up again for the fourth year running?
But at least next year will be a different excuse from, 'we were trying so hard till the end of the championship last year we started late for this..'

perhaps they can go with, 'Red bull, finished very early last year so were able to continue their progression. We are playing catch up.'

Would think with all the practise since 1999 they would have some new excuses by now frown

I actually think Sauber will benefit quite a bit, since they don't have a blown off-throttle exhaust diffusor at all.

Unfortunately, No!

They have lost a lot of key personnel over the years, Newey, Coughlan and Fry and I can't believe that big Sam will make much of a difference, given how Williams have drifted under his stewardship.
