Video: Mercedes C63 AMG Coupe Sings Away

No nonsense, just pure, unadulterated V8 warbling. Lovely

It's not exactly news, this, but we can more or less guarantee that it is worth 60 seconds of your time.

What is it? A minute's worth of slip-sliding Mercedes C63 AMG coupe goodness, accompanied by a seriously wonderful V8 soundtrack. If you heard God gargling, we reckon he would sound like this.

And of course this is merely the 'standard' car, remember - what will the Black Series version sound like?

This is the new turbo one, right?

Sounds good smile and I'm sure AMG can swing a decent throttle response out of it. Well done you crazy germans.

Well worth going to MB World next to Brooklands for a passenger ride. If you thought they sounded nice on the outside...

Well no it doesn't handle like an M3.

It handles better than an M3.

I'll adjust your statement to:

If only it had a manual gearbox like a small amount of M3s.

I appreciate I'm probably opening myself up to a torrent of abuse here..

I was behind a "normal" C63 AMG in traffic last week. As the road opened up he gave the car some welly (judging by the smell of the exhaust / emissions that came out of it) and surged away from me but I thought it really didn't look THAT quick - I'd estimate he was steaming up to about 90MPH before backing off..

As it happened the route I needed to take was the same as his and think he thought I was trying to catch up with him to 'race' him (I'm not that stupid to think my car would even have half a chance.. though was I tempted to see just how much quicker one of those would be!) - but I have to say every time he gunned it, and I could hear the thing bellowing, it just didn't seem to pull away THAT quickly.

Are these things a bit less impressive before they hit three figures because of the overkill in power (so being reigned in my traction control) and weight - or are they actually properly quick and I was just mistaken about it looking slow? wink

Now THAT would be something!!!!!!!!!! A manual (gearstick with 3 pedals) C63 estate, I`m not sure I would need anything else!

you are mistaken mate. They are very quick - esp with performance pack upgrades or any other engine mods. The only issue is that the conditions must be close to bone dry otherwise they are not...

Nice sound; but disappointingly, I also heard the sound of an automatic gear change.

The editing of the video does the noise no favours, they have softed compressed the sound to take the harsher high frequencies out, which seems to have cut the bass too. I've seen a few C63s in person and they all sounded a lot beefier than that -

I was lucky enough to see a Brabus a few weeks ago, the noise was out of this world even just tootling through the city!
