Just wondering if anyone has done any experiments/measurements etc to find out the height of the GTR's Centre of Gravity. Currently doing a bit of design work and before we start fiddling about with trying to work it out experimentally, I thought it would be wise to check on here to see if anyone has worked it out previously?

Thanks

Jonny

I suspect the only way to do it would be to get a complete kit and weigh each component then map it's height above the ground and relative position front to rear.

I don't know of any other way of doing it but then I'm not an engineer.

As a pure guess I would say approx 16" off the ground. When you work it out let me know how far out I was.

Should be possible with corner weight scales, some blocks to raise the scales at one end and some trigonometry. Maybe.

Someone has embraced Europe.

Have you ever heard a woman talk about the 203.2mm dick her date had???? biggrin

As the recent events with the euro show, it is good to hang on to your country's individuality sometimes.

at least most things are symetrical on the car so you only need to wory about fore/aft distance and height.

its a lot of work, most just guess at it for their first cars, only seasoned designers seem to have enough knowledge to know where all the parts are located and teh weights of each. I have a spreadsheet for the formula car im building that has coloums for the weights, cordinates so one day it shoudl be posible to compute it.

im weighing parts as i go. there is only a few unknowns now and last time i put some estimates into it i came up with 360kg all up weight.

Have you remembered to add all the nuts, bolts, rivets, adhesive, sealant, tape, ducting, heat shielding, paint, etc, etc.

With all that added in it probably weighs 750kgs biggrin

Bugger, still some ways of the target 250kgs then
