Been nursing a leaky valve for about a month (topping up every evening), but I left the car in the garage for a few days and it drained completely (actual zero p.s.i).

Went to pump it up and air is seeping between the join of wheel and tyre so it wont hold air at all.

Do you think I will need a new tyre or does it just need re-fitting? Its a pirrelli run flat.

Sounds like corrosion on the wheel where the tyre bead seats. Take it to a tyre place and they'll be able to clean it up with a bit of sandpaper and then slap on the sealing goop and it'll be fine. Either that or get the wheel refurbished if you'd rather.

I've had several alloys do this, and never had a problem with the sandpaper/goop method.

No I think its where the weight of the car has mishaped the side wall (sorry should of said).

Sounds like the tyre bead has become unseated. Best bet is to take it to a tyre shop and have them remount it. It is unlikely that the air filling pumps at a typical petrol garage would have the volume and pressure to reseat the bead.

Wouldn't hurt to have then clean the rim and goop it as previously mentioned.

Ah right, sorry. That doesn't sound so good then. I'd be inclined to take it to your local tyre indie - at least they'll be able to see it in person and give you a proper opinion either way.

All because of these poxy tyre pressure sensors. They are in two parts and the seals gone, didn't get this trouble with normal valves.

Better get the valve done 1st.

If the sidewall has folded under the static weight I would not want to use it again. Runflat sidewalls are designed not to flex, I'd GUESS all manor of bad things happen when they do.

If the tread has just flatspotted then it might inflate out. As above, an expert opinion is needed.
