I was lucky enough to have a blast in a Gallardo Spyder the other day.

Of course the power and noise were immense biggrin

However, what I really enjoyed was the gearbox shift levers - flappy paddle style. The ability to flick between gears with both hands on the wheel is hugely gratifying as well as letting you focus more on the driving.

I'm interested if this conversion is possible a Chim - without spending more than the car is worth on a proper race system.

I looked into this for my Sagaris. It was not overly cheap - if you want a proper sequential gearbox with it.

There are places however that will supply closed loop paddle conversions.

Thanks Alex, can you elaborate on closed-loop?

When I looked at costing this for myself I was recommended by the manufacturers I asked to get the system from Geartronics. The website below explains something between the two systems and different options.

Remember, I was looking at a sequential gearbox with flappy paddle system, but hope the research helps with your query.

You can fit an Elite 6 speed sequential in a Chim, we tried mine in Iains chassis.

If you could get them to fit Helical gears rather than straight cut, and a geartronics closed loop paddle system that would probably work.

the problem your going to get with most of the after market kit available is that its designed for a race enviroment, so not optimised for smoothness, and will have straight cut gears.
